Vidya Balan, who plays Amitabh Bachchan's mother in Paa, was so impressed by Abhishek's caring behaviour towards his father during the shooting that she confesses she would like to have a son like Abhishek in real life.

"I would prefer a son like Abhishek. I have seen him with his father on the sets... he was so nice to his father that I was touched," Vidya told reporters here Saturday.

Director R. Balakrishnan's Paa is an emotional story of a father-son relationship and Amitabh will be seen as Abhishek's 13-year-old son Auro who is suffering from a rare disease progeria, that accelerates ageing. The film releases Dec 4.

"The film is all about Auro and all through the film there is a certain sensibility about Auro, but no sympathy is shown towards the 13-year-old progeric child in the film," said Vidya.

When the director approached her for the role, she wasn't sure about playing the mother of a progeric child. "Initially, I wondered how to do the role as I didn't have that motherly instinct. But while working on the film I realised what motherhood is," said Vidya.

She says playing Amitabh's mother wasn't difficult at all. "I was a bit concerned initially but it was smooth sail once we started working together."

Asked if it wasn't a risk to play a mother so early in her career, she said: "I didn't see any risk, rather it was a lifetime opportunity to get to work in such a wonderful film."

Two men meet to make music but love, insecurities, and envy unleash a darker story.

London Dreams Story:
Arjun (Ajay Devgan) nurses an ambition to make his mark as a musician and to perform at Wembley’s where his grandfather had failed. He runs away from home and works in a music shop and forms a band with Zoheb (Ranvijay Singh) and Wasim (Adithya Roy Kapoor) who have come to London from Pakistan, and Priya (Asin), who comes from an orthodox family.

Mannu (Salman Khan), on the other hand, lives in Punjab with no big life plans. What he has is a great voice and Arjun invites him to join his band.

Mannu is an instant hit with the crowds and falls in love with Priya, whom Arjun likes. This does not go down well with Arjun and he decides to choose his ambition over friendship. He decides to destroy Mannu by getting him hooked on sex and drugs. Before long, Mannu is a broken man and Arjun is about to realize his dream of performing at Wembley’s.

But even the best laid plans go awry and Arjun learns an overwhelming lesson.

It cane out that the lady had a knee injury in August while working out and the knee is still in the healing process. While working out, Ameesha was spinning excessively and damaged her knees. This one has to go down as the biggest disaster of the year. It is sure to sink without a trace.

There is no substance, there is no script and the dialogues are juvenile and crass to the core. Sample this: Akshay Kumar tells a girl, "Let me ride you."

The only twist in the plot (if you can call it one) is so loud that the director is almost shouting it out. When this excursion ends, you almost sigh in relief!

The quality of the acting is what you would put up in a school play. Akshay Kumar is always dressed like a bandmaster, Sanjay Dutt is left to find his left foot as he struggles to groove to the beat (where was the choreographer?) and Lara Dutta is busy changing into stylish two-piece suits (the skimpy ones) to get underwater.

If she is not in her swimming attire, she is busy shaking her body like a girl lost in a pub. As for Zayed Khan, he gives one the feeling that he is hanging around with a bunch of his school buddies.

Oh yes, somewhere along the way Katrina Kaif also shows up with Rahul Dev. There's also Kylie Minogue. Did she know what she was getting into? I'm sure, she too is feeling blue!

Ever since Darsheel Safary became the youngest star of Bollywood to get nominated for the best actor award, there has been much speculation about which film he would do next. What's more, his going price is apparently Rs.75 lakhs (7.5 million)!

After the release of 'Taare Zameen Par', the young actor's parents were very sure that the boy would now concentrate on his studies and go back to his normal life. But then the offers got more and more lucrative.

And one tempting offer came to work with Sanjay Dutt. To be produced by Suniel Shetty's Popcorn Entertainment, the film proposes to bring Sanjay and Darsheel together in the film titled 'Dedh' (one-and-a-half). The comedy is to be directed by Aswani Dheer, who made 'One Two Three'.

"Sanjay is final for the project. We need to work out the dates. As for the boy, yes we do want Darsheel and are trying for him. Let's see," Dheer told us.

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty says she has turned down a lot of international projects as she wants to focus more on Hindi films.

"I have left a lot of international projects to come back to Hindi films. Someone told me I was already out of sight and I did not want to be out of mind too. I want a good end product - a good Hindi film made in India," said Shilpa on the sidelines of an event.

Shilpa also said she has not completely dropped the idea of working in the West.

"If the prospects are lucrative enough in the West, I'll definitely go there. I have an international project, but it is still in the process of scripting," informed the actress.

Recollecting her win on Britain's reality show 'Celebrity Big Brother', she said: "I think 'Big Brother' has been a boon in disguise for not only me but many Asians living abroad. I'm happy with whatever happened on the show. At least, it has changed the perception for Indians living abroad."

Shilpa refrained from making any comments on the rumours of her hosting the second season of 'Big Boss', the Indian version of British 'Big Brother'.

"When any such thing happens, the media will be informed."

Shilpa's next project includes 'The Man' with Sunny Deol in which she would be seen playing the violin for the first time on-screen. Shilpa, who took violin lessons for her role, quipped: "Violin is the single most difficult instrument to play. I am still nursing a bad neck and I do 'bhujangasan' (yoga) everyday to get rid of the pain."

Apart from working in films, she will concentrate on her company S2 Global Productions. She has roped in Manish Jha of 'Matrubhoomi' fame to direct her first home production.

Vidya Balan is on Vacation

After the release of her latest film, Kismat Konnection, actress Vidya Balan is believed to be taking it easy. The actress is believed to be on a vacation for the next couple of months.viydya

But this is not a planned vacation. In fact, it is a vacation which has been forced on the actress. The actress's next two films, Chenab Gandhi and Pa, do not begin their shooting schedules till another two months. So, till the shoot begins, she has no other option but to sit at home and chill. But she is believed to be putting her vacation to good use. Besides making burkha clad trips to cinema theatres to watch her won film, she is also sitting at home and reading scripts. The actress who is now nine films old in the industry, admits that she was quite nervous before the release of Kismat Konnection. It is for the first time that she rung up people asking them about how they liked the film. Maybe this anxiety has something to do with a certain Shahid Kapur. Incidentally, the director of the film, Aziz Mirza is least bothered by reports on the film, good or bad. He is currently chilling at his farmhouse.

If the numerous gossip bits which are floating around come true, Priyanka Chopra who had the luck to be the lady love of India's first superhero in the blockbuster movie 'Krish' will be promoting herself to be the sweet heart of one of the oldest and most famous superhero in the world- Superman.

It is said that the makers of the movie were searching for an Indian actress to play the part and now the director Bryan Singer has already met Priyanka in USA and that she has been fixed for the role in the movie 'Man of Steel'.

Yes, it’s true! In his forthcoming flick Hastey-Hastey, comedian Rajpal Yadav, will be seen locking lips with an American girl. We spoke exclusively to Rajpal Yadav about it and also about the movie.

“It was a normal experience and nothing which was different. One of my characters in the movie keeps on chasing phirangi girls and even likes to hang around with them. The script demanded it so as an actor it is my job to perform rather than create any trouble around the scene. For me also it was a character and nothing more than that because even as a person I myself did not want to do anything which would look false on the screen. When the movie is released, everybody will see for themselves,’ Rajpal says about the kissing scene.

Since Rajpal has not kissed on screen in the past, we asked him about his initial reaction to the scene, “I was told about the scene when the script was narrated to me. So it is not like that I was not told and suddenly the scene was included. But I had my reservations and even the producer of the film had promised me that the scene would be done as per my convenience and not in an unhealthy manner. So going with the word of the producer I readily agreed to do it. Is there any criteria that a comedian cannot do kissing scenes?” questions Rajpal.

About his wife’s reaction, he says, “Why would she have a problem? It was done on-screen and for a film which the script demanded and I was not doing it in real, it was just a performance. So she was fine with it”.

Hastey-Hastey stars Jimmy Shergill, Rajpal Yadav and Nisha Rawal who is a newcomer in the lead roles. For the first time in his career Rajpal would be playing a triple role of father who is good person at heart, son who is a complete flirt and uncle who is mad.

Ajay Devgan is set to produce three films

After his directorial debut “U, Me Aur Hum”, actor-director Ajay Devgan is set to produce three films under his banner. He will also direct one of them.While Ajay would be directing one film, he has zeroed in on Rohit Shetty of “Sunday” and “Golmaal” fame to direct the second film for him.

The third film, however, is still being scripted.

Ajay, who is currently on the judging panel of Zee TV’s reality show “Rock N Roll Family” along with his wife Kajol and mother-in-law Tanuja, will also be active on the acting front.Ajay Devgan to plan three films this year

He has Shetty’s “Golmaal Returns”, Kumar Mangat’s “Toonpur Ka Superhero”, Prakash Jha’s “Rajniti” and Vipul Shah’s “London Dreams”.
